How is the shoulder joint structured and which muscles are needed for yoga exercises? How do I protect the joint and how do I recognize which people need to pay special attention?
In this very practical anatomy yoga workshop with physiotherapist Martina Blumer and yoga teacher Tanja Lenger Mascarenhas you will learn to palpate the most important muscles, tendons and ligaments and get a better understanding of this complex joint.
You will understand how to protect your participants or yourself in yoga classes from injuries and incorrect strain. Using anatomy pictures and the skeleton, you will learn the theoretical part, then you will go straight into partner exercises, where you will learn to feel the muscles (palpation), we will draw certain muscles and tendons together on your own body, so that the whole thing becomes even clearer.
You will also get a short overview of the most common diseases and injuries in this area. The course will be rounded off with yoga exercises and physiotherapy exercises for the shoulders.
This workshop is for yoga teachers and experienced yoga practitioners with an interest in anatomy.
